Progress - Bush Park dawn
Feb 15th, 2008 | By eileen morey | Category: Paintings in progress
Today was the second day of working on this painting. I think that in two more days, maybe three, this will be completed. On the right is a photo of how it looked the first day. It was okay… but not great. Neither the colors nor the values were right, though the composition was there.
Now, I’ve increased the contrast and adjusted the tone. Suddenly, there’s far more depth in this landscape.
The photo on the left doesn’t do it justice. No matter what I do with Adobe Photoshop, the pink doesn’t look peachy enough or the blue as cobalt as it is.
Oh well, color accuracy isn’t as important now as it will be when the painting is completed.
I am really pleased with my progress today.
Next, I’m putting this painting aside to dry. That will take about a week. I can already see things that I’d like to improve, but I may rethink that after a fresh look.
