Departing clouds - Bush Park

I painted this 8″ x 10″ oil sketch at about 8:30 a.m. in Bush Park, just outside Houston, Texas. Heavy, dark clouds were being swept away by the wind, revealing brilliant white sunlight. When the sun shone through the clouds, the grassy areas in the field were almost neon bright. Vivid lime green, orange and yellow were a sharp contrast against the soft blue-grey trees on the horizon, and the muted colors in the clouds.
I’ve described this as an oil sketch, but — upon returning home and looking at it again — I think that this may be a completed painting. I’ll decide when the paint dries and I frame it.
